The desire for improvement is inherent in all of nature. It is fundamental … Think about it, everything we do is geared toward increasing and improving. Better shelter, more clothes, more food, more beauty, more luxury, more pleasure, more knowledge … more life!

Last night I had the pleasure of attending a lecture by Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith, one of the teachers in The Secret. Since I am always seeking to advance myself and learn more about the Law of Attraction, I went out of my way to attend. I am glad I did!

I attained a new and greater understanding of the Law of Perpetual Transmutation! “Perpetual”
and “Transmutation” are 50 cent words to me and I struggle to really understand what it means. Using the definition provided in The Science of Getting Rich Home Study Course the Law of Perpetual Transmutation states that “energy moves into physical form”. The definition goes on to say, “The images we hold in our mind most often materialize in results in our lives.”

Michael Beckwith spoke about our tendency to think about “lack” rather than “abundance”. Isn’t this a paradox when on one hand we want to advance, and yet on the other hand we find that we are thinking about lack more than we are thinking about abundance? Sounds like a self fulfilling prophecy to me!

Yes, when I spend the time to listen to that voice in my head I find that it does seem to focus more on “lack” or “why it can’t work” than on the opposite condition. Michael Beckwith suggests that we really understand what question we are asking. Making sure that we form a question that is (1) higher than where we are now and (2) abundant in nature.

As the saying goes, “ask and you shall receive.” Michael Beckwith went on to say, if you spend your time asking the Universe “Why Me?” then the Universe or formless substance will give you lots of reasons and keep dishing out crap to you. Whereas if you ask “Who Am I and How Can I Serve?”, then it is apparent you are seeking to advance (higher state) and being in a position that you have the time, energy and skills to serve (abundance). In response, the Universe will provide a multitude of answers in a variety of ways. We just need to remain present, be open, and be ready to receive.

So to implement the Law of Perpetual Transmutation I am going to focus on forming questions for my mind to ponder that are toward advancing me and being abundant in nature.
